Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as "tapping," is a self-help tool that involves stimulating acupressure points on the body while focusing on the area of your life that you want to change. When you tap on these points, you send a signal to the amygdala (the part of the brain which is in charge of determining whether there is a threat). This communication calms the nervous system.

EFT helps to shift you out of "flight or fight" (sympathetic) mode into the "rest and digest" (parasympathetic) mode.

EFT has been proven to lower cortisol levels (leaving you less stressed) and steady and slow the heart rate (which allows all of your physiology to work better).

Watch the TED talk presented by Dr. Peta Stapleton for more information on the history and use of EFT.

See the diagram for the points that are typically used. In a session, I provide a script for you to follow based on your personal situation. You repeat short phrases after me while tapping on these points.
